Randomly remembered this series and thought I'd come revisit it, but then I just about had a heart attack when I saw that _THIS WAS TWELVE YEARS AGO!_

So originally this Mr. Collins seemed super mainsplain-y- but now I think he’s just trying really hard and is probably autistic. They probably didn’t intend for that, but he seems too genuine and kind to be “rude” on purpose.

I'm watching this for the first time, after it's been 11yrs since it released, and it still slaps. I loved this webseries so fricking much, thank you to the creators for this delight!! I'm a huge fan of the novel and it's been adapted so many times, but this is definitely up there. It's aged well (minus 2010's fashion) and I'm glad to have experienced this.

I am so thankful that this adaptation doesn't follow the original's footsteps in condemning Lydia for being taken advantage of by Wickham.

Jane is ridiculously gorgeous all the time, and especially in this episode!!! They did a good job finding a stunning actress to play the character who is most known for her beauty

Wait holy crap i just realised gigi's coach's name is probably pulled from her new companion, Ansley(according to the subtitles)/Annesley, like how they made lizzie's aunt her professor, another smaller book character mention, it's clever the different ways they worked smaller characters in!

Holy shit Lydia raising her voice was SUCH a smart move production-wise. I felt that pain and how completely done she is with Lizzie’s criticism… all I wanna do is apologize to her on Lizzie’s behalf.

This is probably the episode i rewatch the most..2:00, THE ENDING, LIZZIE SAYING SHE WOULD’VE SAID YES, OMG.

Listen, Charlotte, Gigi, Fitz and Jane have a GC about this ship (Charlotte and Fitz started it and then added Jane (Charlotte) and Gigi (Fitz). Jane and Charlotte took a break after they realised what Darcy had done and after seeing the letter video, they get back into the gc again and this was all planned by the four of them

okay but i really like how they worked in one of my favorite moments from the book that doesnt make it into most adaptations (at least that i've found so far), because the whole thing with switching the car matches the bit in the original where darcy and caroline are walking and run into lizzie and louisa, and louisa immediately goes to join darcy and caroline, leaving elizabeth behind, and darcy goes "hey, this walkway is too narrow for all four of us, we should go somewhere else". very few adaptations include that bit which is too bad because its one of my favorite netherfield scenes so its really cool they found a way to work a variation of it into this one

10 years damn. Fifth time watching this.

now watching this show for the first time in 2024 is so refreshing bc I get crazy flashbacks of the fashion and media culture of the early 2010s and I love it --- I really cant with Darcy's overalls and bowties, its so cute
